"By using either expensive or cheap flourocarbon leaders, a fisherman can easily catch three times as many fish as another fisherman using nylon leaders. The reason is that flourocarbon has almost the same refractive index as water, and is therefore invisible to the fish. Using 17 lb. Stren Flourocarbon as our leader for a Carolina Rig (28 inch leader), my son and I catch more rockfish at the Chesapeake Bay than anybody else in the party boat."
